THE MEXICAN CARPENTER

I am David Parraguirre, and when I was just 14 years old, I moved from Veracruz, Mexico to the USA. Since then, I have been deeply involved in the world of construction. As a young teenager, I eagerly joined the busy construction industry and helped renovate old buildings in downtown Washington DC.

Throughout my career, I had a significant turning point when I had the opportunity to work with Nick Thomson, a respected professional. Together, we passionately built impressive houses in Montgomery and Howard County. With a strong commitment to my work, I eventually formed my own skilled team and constructed remarkable homes and townhomes for many well-known companies.

However, in 2008, the construction industry faced challenges when the housing market went through a tough time. Undeterred, I ventured into the culinary world and tried to start my own food business in 2009. Although it didn't work out as I had hoped, it taught me valuable lessons. Following that, I spent a dedicated year honing my skills in different well-regarded restaurants.

In 2010, the irresistible allure of renovating homes and remodeling kitchens brought me back to the captivating Washington DC metropolitan area. For several years, I wholeheartedly devoted my energy to revitalizing homes and transforming kitchens, leaving a trail of inspiration behind. Then, in 2014, an incredible opportunity arose, leading me to Upstate, NY, where I skillfully undertook ambitious projects from scratch. This marked the start of my passionate travels between Maryland and Upstate NY, spanning almost five years, as I diligently completed three monumental ventures.

In 2020, I proudly built a breathtaking home in Queenstown, Maryland, with a majestic view of the beautiful Bay Bridge. Additionally, I had the privilege of renovating a luxurious bath house in Betterton, Maryland, exclusively for the esteemed residents of the county. Energized by my accomplishments, I proceeded to transform my own home into a place of innovation and craftsmanship, while also building an impressive workshop and studio.

Currently, I am wholeheartedly dedicated to my latest project—a splendid new home being constructed in the vibrant Northern Virginia region. The future holds countless exciting projects that ignite my creativity and fuel my passion for building.

The art of construction runs through my veins, and I am always driven to create and innovate with my hands. I firmly believe that my valuable expertise and unwavering dedication should be shared with the young minds in my community, encouraging them to embrace the construction industry as a fulfilling and prosperous career path.
